  • Sprint Coach- Mr. Swanson
  1. How do you feel about this years track season? "I feel good, because we are going to focus on character more then anything."
  2. Are there any rules about practicing outside and weather conditions? There is a games committee that determines if a meet should be cancelled. At smaller meets coaches decide.
  3. Due to the snow on the track, how and where will we practice? No outside on speed days, first two weeks indoor schedule, be creative if snow is on the track
  4. What type of clothing should athletes bring? "First of all have proper clothing" "It's minnesota prepare for the worst."

  • Distance Coach- Mr. Sharp
  1. How do you feel about this years track season? "I think there is alot of potential." "The question is how hard did our guys work during the off season, and how hard did the others guys work."
  2. Will temperatures and snow affect whether or not we practice outside? It does not affect distance runners, distance runners run at a long term pace so the muscles stay warm, only extreme weather conditions would affect distance practice
  3. What would extreme weather conditions be? Below zero and extreme wind chills or heavy snow would affect distance practice
  4. How would practice change if there where extreme weather conditions? Practice would still be outside but what they do would change, practice would be more in the 'fun' category such as fun in the snow
  5. What type of clothing should distance athletes bring for practice? NO boxers, always hat, gloves, underwear, sweat pants, jacket, socks. athletes should bring a longsleeve shirt and multiple tee shirts

  1. How do you feel about this years track season? "I'm pretty excited." "I hope to be better then last year."
  2. What events are you planning on running? 100 meter dash and the 4 by 100 meter relay
  3. How do you feel about practicing outside in current temperatures and weather conditions? "It's fair" "I'm a little worried about the snow on the track"
  4. What would you consider exceptional weather for practicing outside? 60-70 degrees
  5. What clothing would you recommend athletes bring to practice? Sweatpants, tee shirt, and good running shoes
